From its pulsating precursors, the fast Milonga and the folkloric waltz, the rhythmic Candombés, up to "Decada gloriosa", the golden time of tango with the very elegant Hollywood film tangos by Carlos Gardel and Libertad Lamarque from the thirties and forties.
Furthermore, Astor Piazzolla, who made a decisive contribution to the further development and renewal of tango with his brilliant compositions, is represented in our program. We also present the less known tango chansons and tango ballads which he wrote for his wife Amelita Baltar.
Open your heart to tango's great emotions, passions, humor, craftiness and high spirits.
Loneliness, desperation, frolicking, love, hope, disappointment, displacement and the reflections on these emotions, are also part of the tango's thematic repertoire, with highly complex structures in regards to the music and the texts (Horacio Ferrer, Enrique Cadícamo, Enrique Santos Discépole, Jorge Luis Borges).
